As I sat at my desk on Christmas Eve, pondering about the past achievements of Cherrypick Consulting, assessing the current performance, and anticipating the future it will bring, flashes of moments came snap shooting into my mind. It then dawned on me that "The Ghost of Christmas Past" could be sending me a message so that I could convey to the digital world. At least that is in my own personal opinion. The Christmas atmosphere probably attributed a big chunk of this.
We all know that it is Christmas around the corner, but it is also the dreadful time of the year for many sales individuals. The frustration and anticipation to end the year on a good note is very much understandable.
Additionally, it is during this period of time that many people will be sending Christmas wishes to thank friends, relatives, families, colleagues and customers. But how many of you actually pick up the call to say "Thank You" to your customers?
If you are one of those who have not done so, all is not too late. You still have up to end of the year to do this.
I can't help but to start hearing murmurs of "I am busy closing the year and do not have time for this", or "we have sent Christmas log cakes and Christmas cards" etc...
If the above sounds all too familiar to you or you are guilty of it, then congratulations! You are now part of a club called Statistics. You are part of a statistics of people who does the same thing.
Let us explain why saying Thank You personally is so important. The reasons are a few :
1) You are personal. We are dealing with people in all businesses. So getting personal builds a special bond ;
2) You differentiate yourself away from Club Statistics. You stand out and people remember you for that ;
3) You owe it to them. Whether they have contributed a small fraction or a large piece of your business and sales performance, they have contributed. You owe your success to them one way or another.
Some organizations create Fans out of their business. Cherrypick Consulting strive to create with the same F, but it stands for Family. Whether Fans or Family, we thank them for the part they play in our lifetime.
So start picking up the phone when you get back from work and start thanking them personally!
Penning off, Cherrypick Consulting would like to wish all readers a Berry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Check out the video we created. And being a trust sales professional, LISTEN to the lyrics. :)
