Everyone knows that every commercial business are more or less dealing with people. We dare say, every business entity is people business.
While many organizations invest tons of money in tools that bring them visibility and intelligence, many in the market often still see training as a cost center in today's people business.
Today's article does not serve to challenge whether training is a cost center or not. That totally depends on many other factors. But one thing is for certain, your employees play a critical role in the success of your business. No matter how amazing your solutions or services are, selling them will be an uphill battle if your employees are not equipped with the soft skills to connect with your customers and prospects.
These days, customers and prospects have more choices when it comes to where they spend their money. It’s very likely that what you’re selling can be purchased elsewhere. Your key differentiator is your people. It is does not matter which industry you are in.
When you have employees who can serve and sell effectively, the chances of customers and prospects choosing you over your competitors are exponentially higher.
The better trained your employees are, the better the chances. And it does make a lot of logic to invest in the biggest component of the business - dealing with people. The tools you have only tells you what to do. But the people you have actually do "the do".
